Fall Soccer

This is probably the one oand only time that Bennett, Beckam, and Carter will be able to play on the same team. I had to lie a little about birthdays to do it. But it was worth it, because they are so cute playing together. Beckam and Bennett are the stars of the team and although the bicker like brothers most of the time, they are great teammates and work together to get the ball in the goal.
Here is the only action picture I have of all three of them. Carter is the littl short guy in between the two blue team players.
Bennett is awesome at stealing the ball and getting it all the way across the field and into the goal. It is his "super fast speed" that makes him such a good soccer player.
Most of the time this is how you will find Carter. Laying on the ground pretending to be sad, waiting for the coach to come and pick him up. All the other parents look at me like I should run to his aid, but little do they know the acting skills this little three year old has. He beams with pride when the coach come, picks him up and encourages him to run fast and get the ball.

Party Time

Ava loves her Grandma Christy
Little Princess Aiya taking a dainty swing at the girls pinata.
Ava just wanted to pull the streamers off
And it wouldn't be a Waddell party if someone didn't put the remnants of the pinata on their head

1, 2, 3, Happy Birthday to Me

This was such a fun year for September birthdays. With in 10 days we had three birthdays. Ava turned 1 on the 7th, Aiya turned 2 on the 15th, and Carter turned 3 on the 16th. So we had a huge 1, 2, 3, party all together. Jana made these great "humungous" (as Carter would say) cup cakes. Ava could not wait to dig into hers. I had to hold her back while everyone sang happy birthday.

I decided this would be a great time to learn to sew and made these cute pillow dresses for Ava and Aiya.
Carter showed great patience while everyone sang happy birthday, but wasted no time digging in to his very own cupcake...

...and Ava wasted no time climbing on top of hers.

Carter's 3rd Birthday

This is my big three year old. I can't believe that he is so old. He was my little butterball, with the most kissable cheeks. While his cheeks are still very kissable, he has lost that baby chub and is looking more and more like a big boy everyday. He is the funniest kid with a very quirky personality. His favorite movie right now is Animaniacs, or as Carter says, "Anibabiacs". If you remember the cartoon from the 90's, his favorite character is Wakko. Wakko is Carter all the way. He still has his own little weird vocabulary. He says Cank Cou for thank you, sarcky for scary and car force for star wars. He calls Zurge from Toy Story, Gage. Carter has a very different way of thinking. While he is quite the character, he is just as much a sweet heart. He has the best manners out of all my kids. He is always good for a cuddle. He is very good at pretending to be sad, and will break your heart with his puppy dog eyes. Carter is the definition of fun and is always ready for a party, especially if the party has treats!

Labor Day

The day before Ava's first birthday we went boating with my parents. It's hard to believe that on this day one year ago, she was still in my tummy.

The boys on grandpa's water couch, which to my surprise, Bennett loved and Carter hated.

Milk and Cookies

Beckam and Carter were so excited to pick Bennett up from his first day of school. Most of all they really wanted to play on the playground. Look at this big boy walking his friends across the street.
When Bennett got home we had milk and cookies to celebrate the big day. He told me all about his day and that he made 2 friends, Elliot and Cooper. Elliot and Bennett have turned into best friends and can't wait to see each other at school everyday. Elliot is usually waiting for Bennett and recognizes my car when I pull up. I am so glad he has made such a good friend.

Bennett's 1st Day

Highland Park Elementary
Kindergartener

It's official. Bennett is now a kindergartener. I can't believe he is this big and that he is so independant. I was so proud of him on his first day. He didn't know any other kids in his class, but yet he was so excited to meet them and make friends.
He happily said goodbye to Carter, Ava, and me and then walked right into class without looking back. I cried as I left him there. Tears of sadness that my baby is entering into the big phase of school, but also tears of pride at how well adjusted and brave he was. There were many worrisome days over the summer where he was terrified of the idea of going to school. It was good to see a complete turn around.

After he walked in the door, I peaked through the window just as he was hanging up his backpack he looked up and I caught this picture of him. Oh, he is so cute. This is when the tears started and even writing about it brings the tears back. I am just so proud of him. I love you, my little kindergartener!

Carter's 1st Day

My little boy on his 1st day of school.

He was so excited I had a hard time getting him to stop for a pictures.

AFter he ran into the classroom, he got a little overwhelmed and backed himself into a cubby and sat down. It only lasted a few minutes. One of the cute teachers showed him some trains that he could play with, and that was that. He didn't even notice when I walked out.

3 & 1

We had an early mock birthday for Carter and Ava, since Scott was supposed to be gone. The next day we found out Scott was not going on the deployment. Yay! We got to keep dad around and celebrate early. Win, win for all.
Carter was so cute with his cake. He kept saying to me, "I love it, thank you mommy." He melts my heart.

Ava was in heaven!
